Pre-quotation buyer checklist

C&I Energy Storage Project Checklist

Use this 12-point C&I energy storage project checklist to prepare site, load, grid, solar, operating, environmental and commercial data before requesting a quotation.

Commercial battery cabinet used for a C&I energy storage project checklist

A complete project brief produces a faster and more relevant response than a request for price per kWh. The following checklist helps owners, EPCs, distributors and integrators organize the information required before selecting a C&I energy storage format.

1-3: objective, site and destination market

1. Operating objective: Define peak shaving, solar self-consumption, selected backup or another permitted strategy. 2. Site profile: Identify the facility type, operating hours and critical processes. 3. Destination market: State the country, grid context, standards and intended project date.

Avoid combining several objectives without priorities. The design team needs to know which result controls the power, energy, switching and EMS strategy.

4-6: load, grid and solar data

4. Load profile: Provide interval consumption and peak demand. 5. Electrical system: Provide voltage, frequency, phase and transformer information. 6. Solar system: Provide installed or planned capacity and production data.

Daily or monthly energy totals cannot show short demand peaks or the alignment between PV production and facility consumption. Use the highest-resolution reliable data available.

7-9: power, energy and installation conditions

7. Target power: State continuous kW and relevant surge requirements. 8. Target energy: State required kWh or operating duration. 9. Site conditions: Describe indoor or outdoor installation, temperature, altitude, dust, humidity, access, available area and weight limits.

If power and energy are not yet known, provide the operating objective and data used to calculate them. Product format follows these requirements, not the other way around.

10-12: interfaces, supply scope and schedule

10. Integration interfaces: Identify the planned PCS, EMS, metering and site-control systems. 11. Supply boundary: State whether the request covers battery racks, cabinets, an integrated system, transformer, switchgear, shipping, installation or commissioning. 12. Commercial plan: Provide quantity, delivery country, documentation needs and target schedule.

Submit these details through the C&I inquiry form or compare the current cabinet and container directions before requesting a model-level quotation.

Frequently asked questions

C&I Project Brief FAQ

Do I need a full year of load data?

A full representative year is useful where available, but the required period and interval depend on the operating objective, tariff and seasonality. Explain any gaps or unusual periods.

What if the target kW and kWh are not known?

Send the site objective, interval load, tariff, solar and backup requirements so the sizing assumptions can be discussed before selecting a product direction.

Should certification be confirmed before quotation?

State the destination market and required standards early. The supplier must then confirm which evidence applies to the exact proposed model and scope.
